On July 22, 2025, in George Hogg's hometown, Harpenden in Hertfordshire near London, a memorial event was held to mark the 80th anniversary of his passing.
After graduating from Oxford University in 1937, George Hogg made his way to China after travelling across many countries. He reported on the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression as a journalist, and documented how the Communist Party of China led the people in fighting and daily life.
